A man was killed on the job Friday in middle Georgia after his neck was gashed at a wastewater treatment plant, according to a media report.
James Kip Evans, 52, of Forsyth, was in a ditch trying to saw pipes when his neck was cut with a chop saw, Monroe County sheriff’s Sgt. Lawson Bittick told the Telegraph of Macon. Evans died soon after being taken to a Macon hospital.
“It’s just a freak accident,” Bob Monette, president of Alpharetta-based Utility Partners LLC, told the paper. Utility Partners, Evans’ employer, contracts with the City of Forsyth.
