Public information open houses have been scheduled in North Fulton and Forsyth counties to discuss plans for express lanes along Ga. 400.

The Georgia Department of Transportation project would widen and construct express lanes in an approximately 16-mile section of Ga. 400, from the North Springs MARTA station in Fulton to roughly 0.9 miles north of McFarland Parkway in Forsyth.

The first meetings are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m., Feb. 28, at the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta North/Alpharetta, 4025 Windward Plaza, Alpharetta.

Subsequent meetings all will take place 4:30-7:30 p.m. on the following dates: March 5, at the Forsyth Conference Center, 3410 Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Cumming; March 7, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Atlanta-Roswell, 1075 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell; and March 12, at City Springs, 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs.

The open houses will be informal, with no formal presentation planned, and people can drop in any time. A court reporter will be available to take comments. Information: www.dot.ga.gov/DS/GEL/SR400.

“The proposed express lanes would improve mobility and travel time reliability along the Ga. 400 corridor,” according to GDOT. The meetings will provide “opportunities to learn more about the project, ask questions and provide feedback.”
