More overnight lane closures in connection with the reconstruction of the Ga. 400/I-285 interchange in the Sandy Springs-Dunwoody area have been announced by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

One eastbound right lane and one westbound left turn lane will be closed on Mount Vernon Highway at Barfield Road from 8 p.m. Aug. 7 to 6 a.m. Aug. 8. Also, during the same hours nightly Aug. 7 through Aug. 9, one right westbound lane of Mount Vernon Highway will be closed from Peachtree Dunwoody to Barfield roads.

The closures are necessary for utility relocation and tree clearing, GDOT says. Uniformed officers will assist with traffic control, and no traffic movements will be prohibited.

Additionally, from 8 p.m. Aug. 9 to 6 a.m. Aug. 10, one right lane of I-285 eastbound will be closed from Roswell Road to Glenridge Drive for geotechnical investigations and street sweeping.

Exact dates may change due to weather or other factors, GDOT says.
