The resurfacing of Medlock Bridge Road through Johns Creek in North Fulton County is to start the evening of Thursday, July 18, with crews working through the night the next seven months, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.
The project calls for milling, inlay and resurfacing of about 5.5 miles of Medlock Bridge (Ga. 141) from the Gwinnett to the Forsyth county lines. Weather permitting, “rolling” nightly lane closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. seven days a week, when traffic is minimal, GDOT said.
“The initial work involves patching various places on the roadway and lowering manholes,” according to the GDOT announcement. “As crews complete work in one location, the lane closures will ‘roll’ with the crews to the next work location.”
Roadway signs and message boards will alert motorists to closures in advance. GDOT said drivers should expect delays and plan alternate routes and/or allow extra travel time. The project is expected to be completed in late February 2020.
