Expressway lane closures have been announced for the coming days as part of continuing construction in the top-end Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties.

Weather permitting, the two left lanes of westbound I-285 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through Friday, Sept. 28, from Chamblee Dunwoody Road to the Glenridge Connector, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

The closures will allow crews to demolish an existing median as part of the reconstruction of the I-285/Ga. 400 interchange, GDOT said.

Separately, the right shoulder lanes of the northbound and southbound Ga. 400 entrance ramps from Northridge Road in Sandy Springs will be closed between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily through Friday, GDOT said. The work is preparatory to widening the entrance ramps to two lanes from one and installing dual lane ramp meters to moderate traffic flow and help prevent crashes.

Drivers should be alert to workers and trucks in the area, GDOT said.
