Georgia Department of Transportation Officials said work is set to resume Tuesday on a Quick Response Project aimed at improving traffic flow on Ga. 9 at Frances Road in Cumming.

GDOT officials said the approximately $56,000 project will build a right turn lane off of Ga. 9 onto Frances and correct a drainage problem that causes standing water, allowing traffic on the state road to flow more freely.

District Engineer Brent Cook said the work’s expected to finish up by mid-November, after rains last week slowed the construction process.
