The Georgia Department of Transportation will host a public information open house to learn more about the U.S. 78/State Route 124 intersection project from 5 to 8 p.m. May 20 at First Baptist Church Snellville, 2400 Main St. E. The event is designed to help educate the public on how to navigate through the intersection’s new displaced left turn lanes.

The first phase of the project, which is currently under construction, is expected to open soon with the full completion by the end of 2019. According to the city’s website, the first phase includes improvements to Henry Clower Boulevard at either end where Clower meets U.S. 78, and where Henry Clower Blvd. meets Scenic Highway. The second phase includes improvements to the intersection of U.S. 78 and S.R. 124.
