Drivers in Gwinnett County should keep their eyes on the clock next week. The Georgia Department of Transportation will be closing lanes on Interstate 85 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for five days.
The closures will begin on Monday, Jan. 21 and last through the evening of Friday, Jan. 25. One northbound lane will be closed Monday through Friday, and one southbound lane will be closed Wednesday through Friday.
The closures will start at Ga. 211 in Barrow County and end at Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County. They are part of an ongoing widening plan that will add lanes to I-85 through Jackson, Barrow and Gwinnett counties.
