The Georgia Department of Labor will relocate its Clayton County Career Center at 2450 Mount Zion Parkway in Jonesboro to its facility at 1630 Phoenix Blvd in College Park in Clayton County at the end of the month.
The transfer will at the end of business Jan. 23. The career center will re-open at the new location at 8 a.m. Feb. 2.
During the week the office equipment and staff are being moved, Clayton County customers seeking employment-related services or assistance with unemployment insurance benefits may visit other GDOL career centers. Those nearby include the DeKalb Career Center at 3879 Covington Highway in Decatur; South Metro Career Center at 2636-14 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Atlanta; Griffin Career Center at 1514 Highway 16 West in Griffin; Covington Career Center at 7249 Industrial Blvd., N.E. in Covington, or the Newnan Career Center at 30 Bledsoe Road in Newnan.
Relocating the Clayton County Career Center to the new location will reduce costs and consolidate the GDOL services in one building with other agencies that provide employment- related services, according to a news release. The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency is already housed in the Phoenix Boulevard facility.
