As police say, Doraville's K-9 officer Tryko had his "final roll call" last week.
Today, the department says goodbye.
The memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Rest Pet Gardens on Harbins Road in Dacula.
The jet-black German shepherd was put down last Monday. All around him agreed it was time, after a series of setbacks related to the April incident in which he was reportedly stabbed in the mouth by a fugitive.
Tryko is survived by his handler Lt. Jason Deyette, his K-9 "brothers in service" Bongo, Rudi, Bryan and the officers of Doraville, the department said.

In 10 years with the agency, the K-9 helped with about 600 drug seizures and 700 apprehensions.
"He played an important role in several currency seizures —totaling approximately 1 million dollars — and participated in over 75 public K-9 demos," the city said.
Recently, Tryko received the American Kennel Club's Paw of Courage Award for injuries sustained in the line of duty. Police have said he was stabbed by a wanted man who had barricaded himself in the basement of a house in Dunwoody.
