The Roswell City Council has approved an agreement with Fulton County to be reimbursed the approximately $1 million estimated cost of moving a water line for the Hardscrabble Green Loop project.

Fulton has completed the design for its portion of the project and submitted plans to be included with construction bid documents, according to a Roswell staff report. Affected sewer and water facilities include a fire hydrant, water valves, water valve box, manhole and water meters.

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners already has approved the memorandum of understanding for the project and will sign it after Roswell signs, staff said.

All construction, engineer and contract supervision will be the city’s responsibility, the agreement says. When work is finished, the county will accept and operate the new facilities at no further cost to Roswell and reimburse the city within 30 days.

The Hardscrabble Green Loop will be a multi-use trail connecting Roswell High School and Sweet Apple Elementary School.
