The Fulton County Board of Health is holding a free, two-day professional development workshop for transgender residents in Atlanta this week.

“This community has been neglected and needs a little bit more assistance when it comes to career and professional advice,” said Justine Ingram, transgender coordinator for the Fulton County Board of Health.

The workshop will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Adamsville Health Center at 3700 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in southwest Atlanta.

Ingram said attendees will learn how to craft a well-written resume and cover letter and gain professional skills on the first day of the workshop. They will also learn about workplace dress codes and interviewing skills.

On the second day, attendees will receive a resume and cover letter critique.

“We want to make sure we are giving them tools needed to be successful in a professional setting,” Ingram said.
