The Forsyth County Animal Shelter has expanded its hours for handling animal arrivals. Shelter officials said they’ll now accept stray drop-offs and owner surrenders on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until noon. That’s in addition to the same service provided from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Acting animal shelter manager Steve Zaring said the expansion was driven by community feedback and that staff support was then added to affect the change. The shelter offers adoption services from 10: 30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and is located just off Ga. 400 at 4065 County Way in North Forsyth.
