Two closures associated with road improvement projects could disrupt Forsyth County drivers’ summer travel plans.
Starting Monday, a part of Martin Road in northern Forsyth County will be closed to traffic for reconstruction of the intersection of Ga. 9 and Martin Road. County assistant director of engineering Tim Allen said the project will add left and right-turning lanes on Ga. 9 at the intersection. Martin road will also have a right-turn function added and the grade will be adjusted to provide a safer intersection with Ga. 9.
The road’s expected to reopen to traffic on or before Aug. 18, weather permitting.
Also starting Monday, Holbrook Road at the intersection of Burnt Bridge Road in northeast Forsyth will be closed to traffic for about 45 days for construction of a roundabout.
