The Forsyth County School District announced the appointment of two elementary school principals starting in the 2019-20 school year.

Ben Jones was named principal of Shiloh Point Elementary School, 8145 Majors Road, Cumming; and Mike Sloop, principal of Silver City Elementary School, 6200 Dahlonega Highway, Cumming.

Jones started as a social studies teacher at Liberty Middle School in 2004 and was named assistant principal at Silver City in 2012 and at South Forsyth Middle School in 2016. Current Shiloh Point Principal Derrick Hershey will be principal at Sawnee Elementary School.

Mike Sloop, a career engineer, joined the district in 2002 as a science teacher at Otwell Middle School. He was an instruction technology specialist at Otwell and was named assistant principal at Big Creek Elementary School in 2013; Little Mill Middle School in 2015; and Desana Middle School in 2018.

Current Silver City Principal Paige Andrews will be principal at Poole's Mill Elementary School, to open in August, 2020. Information: https://bit.ly/2E8MfKK
