Several road projects are slated for Forsyth County as a result of the Georgia Department of Transportation’s most recent round of contract awards announced Nov. 10.

Construction of medians and a through lane on Ga. 20 at Ga. 400 is planned at the Ga. 400 northbound ramp extending to Ronald Reagan Boulevard. The .37 mile project’s intended to relieve congestion at the Ronald Reagan Boulevard intersection. Baldwin Paving Company of Marietta will do the $548,411 project with an estimated completion date of Aug. 31.

Work is also planned to rehabilitate two bridges over Ga. 400 at the Pilgrim Mill Road and Bald Ridge Marina Road interchanges. It’s part of several similar projects that will get underway in Forsyth and Gwinnett counties. S and D Industrial Painting Inc. of Tarpon Springs, Fla. won the $2.4 million contract for the overall rehab work, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2017.
