Forsyth County commissioners have set qualifying fees for those wishing to run for local offices in the November election.

The county commission district 1 and 3 seats will come open then, as well as county board of education district 1 and 2. Those wishing to run for a commission seat will pay $1,047.02 and school board candidates will fork over $252.

In the state court judge realm, the fee will be $4,311.05 and the cost of filing to run as state court solicitor was set at $3,233.29.

Under Georgia law, members of a county governing authority pay 3 percent of their base salary as a qualifying fee, in a formula tweaked by commissioners. The cost of qualifying in the two judicial races is based on gross salary.
