Forsyth County’s more-than 83,000 property owners will receive revised Annual Notice of Assessment letters after it was discovered tax estimates on some assessments were incorrect due to missing county millage rates.
“These corrected assessments will be sent as soon as the issue is resolved,” said Mary Kirkpatrick, director of the Forsyth Tax Assessors Office.
The property valuations are correct, officials said. A spokeswoman said the cost to the county of the second mailing will not be known until after it’s determined if the error was the fault of a vendor or software.
To get a correct tax estimate, discuss their property valuation and obtain more information about the annual assessment, property owners can call 770-781-2106 or visit the Tax Assessors Office in Suite 260 of the County Administration Building, 110 E. Main St., Cumming.
