Signaling a partial restoration of services after the COVID-19 pandemic, Forsyth County Parks and Recreation announced all recreation centers and the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitors Center were to reopen Monday.

Recreation centers have limited hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and limited capacity for members for the indoor walking track, cardio-weight rooms and gymnasiums.

The Sawnee Mountain visitors center is open regular hours. All playgrounds also are open, and pavilion rentals with new reservations are being accepted online. Programs, camps and indoor facility rentals, however, are suspended through June 14; athletic leagues also are suspended.

Forsyth Parks said it will continue to follow CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting, and state guidelines for social distancing and capacity. “As part of the reopening protocol, staff will screen all customers prior to entering any indoor facilities, and social distancing will be enforced,” according to the parks announcement.
