Several contested countywide races will be on the ballot in Forsyth County after last week’s qualifying for the May 24 primary.

In the District 2 race for county commission, Rick Swope qualified. Fellow Republican and incumbent Brian Tam is not running again. In District 4, incumbent Cindy Jones Mills of Cumming will square off against Kelli Warren of Ball Ground. Both are Republicans.

District 5’s GOP commission race will feature Chandon Adams and Justin T. Hawkins of Cumming and Laura Semanson. Incumbent Jim Boff isn’t seeking reelection.

In the Forsyth County Board of Education District 3 Republican race, incumbent Tom Cleveland will square off against challenger Steve Mashburn. The District 5 BOE race will feature incumbent Nancy Roche being challenged by Kevin Foley and Mike Tasos. All are Republicans from Cumming.

Incumbent sheriff Duane Piper drew a Republican primary opponent, Ron Freeman.
