Forsyth County officials officially debuted improvements at Chattahoochee Pointe Park late last week with a ribbon-cutting.

Officials said the improvements include extending an existing park trail to create a 5K trail and adding a new restroom building. Funding for the park improvements came from the Parks, Recreation and Green Space Bond approved by voters in 2008 and from Splost VI sales tax dollars.

Crews also installed infrastructure designed to facilitate future construction of a groundwater treatment plant on the property.

The park off Old Atlanta road in South Forsyth opened in 2012 and features a canoe launch onto the Chattahoochee River, two pavilions, walking trails and a river-themed playground.
