The Forsyth County School District announced that the annual “Kindergarten Roundup” will begin Monday, Jan. 13 to register incoming kindergarten students for the 2020-21 school year.

Kindergarten registration will take place at the Almon C. Hill Educational Center, 136 Almon C. Hill Drive (formerly Elm Street), Cumming, and not at individual schools, officials said. Each school will have a specific week to register from January through April. The new school year starts in August.

A Forsyth schools website lists the zoned school for a family's address.

“Before you arrive, there are several steps you must do in order to successfully register your child,” the district said.

Among the items on the kindergarten registration checklist: Make an online appointment to meet with a registrar to review all documents; pre-register by providing certain information, such as family data and emergency contacts; and gather the required documents.
