Forsyth County commissioners have set their officer structure for 2018.
During the first meeting of the year, District 3 commissioner Todd Levent was elected to a second term as chairman. District 5 commissioner Laura Semanson will serve as vice chair and Dennis Brown representing District 2 will handle the duties of board secretary.
The chairman’s primary duty is to preside over meetings and make sure they run efficiently. He or she also represents the commission at various meetings and events. The vice chairman and secretary can take over when the chair is unavailable.
Levent was first elected in 2010 and was re-elected in 2014. Semanson was picked by the voters in in 2016. Brown was elected in November and is serving the remainder of former commissioner Rick Swope’s unexpired term through 2020.
