The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing 5 p.m. Thursday at the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main St., Cumming on a series of proposed changes to the county’s alcohol ordinance.

One change would set up regulations for “movie tavern” type businesses serving food and alcohol. The change sets an 11:30 p.m. cutoff time for alcohol sales Monday through Thursday and 12:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. It would also establish a 10:30 p.m. Sunday cutoff for alcohol sales at theaters where at least 50 percent of non-ticketed revenue comes from food sales.

The change was requested by AMC theaters, which operates in southern Forsyth County.

Another change to the alcohol ordinance would set new brewery regulations regarding tours and tastings to bring the county into line with changes made regarding brewers by the state legislature during the 2015 session.
