Forsyth County had a 2019 high school graduation rate of 94.6%, the highest of metro Atlanta county school districts in a recently released report by the Georgia Department of Education, district officials announced.

The overall graduation rate of Forsyth's five high schools surpassed the statewide rate of 82%. All Forsyth schools exceeded 90%, and two, Lambert and South Forsyth, had some of the highest rates in the state: 97.7% and 97.9%, respectively, officials said. Information: https://bit.ly/2kU4lcC

“I am very proud of the continued progress of our students,” said Forsyth schools Superintendent Jeff Bearden. “We have excellent teachers and support staff, and I join them in being thankful for our parent and community support as we prepare our children to lead and succeed.”

Cherokee County schools also reported a higher-than-average graduation rate, 87%. That figure was nearly 15 percentage points higher than in 2012, the district said. Information: https://bit.ly/2m0rt9t

“In addition to exceeding the overall state rate, CCSD’s special needs students, English learners and economically disadvantaged students also graduated at higher four-year rates than their peers statewide,” the district said.
