The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners late last week approved a moratorium on some types of apartment construction. The decision halts acceptance of Res-6 zoning applications and follows a 30-day emergency moratorium approved in August. Commissioner Brian Tam at that time expressed concern about new apartment applications and the potential cost of those projects to county government.

The moratorium will last until 60 days after the approval of a new or updated county comprehensive plan, and does not impact rezoning applications for a Planned Unit Development District or Master Planned District, even if such districts would contain multi-family dwellings.

In additional business, commissioners approved an agreement with American Engineers Inc. for engineering services connected with the proposed Ga. 369-Ga. 400 interchange. And they passed a re-reimbursement resolution related to funding of the project.
