A 31-year-old Forest Park man was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly making a bomb threat Monday at a Rex gas station.

Chanthakeo Vahnvilay has been charged with terroristic threats or acts, reckless conduct, obstruction and giving a false name to police, according to Clayton County jail records.

Vahnvilay was found in the bathroom of the Valero convenient store on Ga. 42 near I-675, and he was arrested.

He is being held without bond.

Police were called to the Valero gas station shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday, where witnesses said a suspicious man said he was going to detonate explosives, police said.

People fled the store, and police used a robot to eliminate the possibility of a bomb threat, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Negotiators were able to talk Vahnvilay out of his hiding place, to take him into custody.

His first appearance hearing is scheduled today at 1:30 p.m., in Clayton County Magistrate Court.

Return for updates.
