The culmination of the 25th Annual Food-A-Thon food and fund drive will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, 732 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. N.W.

Over the years, the event, signals the end of the months long drive, is hosted by the Atlanta Apartment Association, has provided an estimated 6 million pounds of food and $8.5 million.

A survey by Feeding America shows that more than one in four Georgia children under the age of 18 are food insecure.

More than one million metro area apartment residents, companies, employees and vendors compete to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars and nonperishable food items to benefit the Food Bank.
