Bull-Gogi, a new Korean fast food restaurant in Peachtree Corners, failed its first routine inspection because food was not properly separated to prevent cross contamination of bacteria.

Raw chicken and lettuce were being prepped at the same time, mere inches from each other, the inspector said. The lettuce was removed.

An employee was observed prepping raw chicken with clean dishes stored below. And ground beef was stored in the prep cooler behind cooked, ready-to-eat chicken and beef.

Bull-Gogi, 5450 Peachtree Parkway, scored 66/U on the April 4 inspection.

Among other code violations, some prepared foods were cooling improperly and did not reach safe temperatures within the accepted time range. Chicken and beef in a cooler, and chicken and broccoli in an ice bath had all been cooling for more than six hours. The food was discarded.

The inspector took off points because frozen shrimp was thawing in stagnant water in the sink. Lettuce, which had been removed from its original container, was cut without first being washed. It was thrown away.

The facility was also re-using gallon jug containers and spice containers. These were discarded.

Bull-Gogi will be re-inspected.
