UPDATE: The restaurant was re-inspected Nov. 9 and received a 92/A.
ORIGINAL STORY (Nov. 4, 2016): A cafe in a Buckhead office building failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting a "fly catching tape strip hanging directly above a food prep table."
Simmer Cafe, located in the Monarch Tower at 3424 Peachtree Road across from Lenox Square mall, scored a 61/U following the Wednesday evaluation.
According to the report, raw chicken was being stored over ready-to-eat foods in a walk-in cooler.
Officials also reported food debris buildup in gaskets and on a can opener blade.
The restaurant's previous score, assessed in May, was a 100.
A phone number listed online for the restaurant was disconnected. It appears that a Simmer Cafe in a nearby office building on Lenox Road is closed.
Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
