Flippen Elementary School 5th grader Evan Jackson will represent Georgia as a Junior Ambassador for the 26th annual Asian Pacific Children’s Convention (APCC). He will spend two weeks this summer in Fukuoka, Japan. Evan is the second Flippen student to participate in this event and the third to make it to the final round of selection. The program is sponsored by The Japan-America Society of Georgia. The Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention (APCC) was founded by the Fukuoka Junior Chamber and was part of the 1989 Asian-Pacific Exposition, an event that celebrated Fukuoka City’s 100th anniversary. The APCC is a civic movement which is funded by local governments as well as supported by donations from corporate sponsors and the APCC Supporters’ Association.
