Friends and neighbors of a Jonesboro fitness center manager found dead in his home Tuesday say they don't believe Juhahn Belcher took his own life.

A Clayton County police spokeswoman will only confirm there was a shooting and they are investigating. Belcher's body was discovered by associates from LA Fitness who drove to his house after he didn't show up for work.

"I saw him just two days ago," said Glover Young, 24, who lives across the street on Battlecreek Lane. Young said Belcher was friendly and had recruited many of their neighbors to join LA Fitness.

Belcher lived alone. The 33-year-old North Carolina native also had a large pit bull, Young said, one that wasn't approachable.

"That's my question: Where's the dog?" Young said.

Clayton police say it's too early to conclude Belcher was murdered. A friend of the victim's told Channel 2 Action News he found Belcher laying face down on the floor inside his home, with blood splattered on the walls. It appeared he was shot in the head, the friend told Channel 2.
