Clayton County Water Authority’s public fishing season is open. Clayton residents pay $5 per vehicle or $30 for a season pass. Non-residents pay $10 a vehicle or $40 for a season pass. Season passes are good through October and are sold at the Shamrock/Blalock Reservoir and J.W. Smith Reservoir. Shamrock/Blalock reservoirs, 2610 Shamrock Rd. in Jonesboro, are open Wednesday-Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in March and October and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., April-September. The Smith reservoir, 143 Northbridge Rd. in Hampton, is open Saturday – Wednesday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. in March and October and 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., April – September.Clayton residents with season passes can fish at Shoal Creek Reservoir from 7 a.m to 3 p.m., March 15, 22 and 29.
