The Henry County Board of Education voted recently in a special called meeting to recommend Timothy Gadson III as the sole finalist for the position of superintendent, to replace Rodney Bowler who will retire in September.
The board is required by law to wait 14 days after its recommendation before an official vote to appoint Gadson, who currently works for a school system in Minnesota. Gadson is a finalist for the top job in Chattanooga and recently removed himself from consideration after being named a finalist for the same post in Birmingham.
He is a former administrator with Atlanta Public Schools and has worked in several other districts as well.
