A New Jersey man who dragged a police officer 50 feet with his car in 2014 was arrested Wednesday in DeKalb County.

Donell Cook, 27, of Newark, pleaded guilty to assault but didn’t show up to be sentenced on Sept. 29, the FBI said. He had been out on bond.

The dragging happened as a police officer approached the car Cook was driving drunk, police have said, according to nj.com.

The officer fought off Cook and sustained broken bones, abrasions and internal injuries.

The FBI didn’t say how, but authorities determined he was in the Lithonia area. FBI agents arrested him with the help of DeKalb police.

He’s awaiting extradition.
