A suspect wanted for five armed bank robberies throughout Cobb County since February struck a sixth bank in Johns Creek on Thursday afternoon, federal authorities said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Atlanta office said in a release Friday the lone white male suspect entered the Renasant Bank along Medlock Bridge Road at 2:45 p.m. and announced a robbery to a bank teller. Authorities said the suspect then pulled a black handgun from a dark-colored briefcase and pointed his weapon at the bank teller, obtaining an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect fled the scene without incident. The FBI said it is now offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Authorities have described the suspect as 6-feet tall, between the ages 40 to 50, medium-to-heavy build, black hair, with a beard. Camera surveillance from past robberies have shown the suspect wearing baseball caps, dark sunglasses, trench coats, and dark-colored jackets to conceal his identity.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Residents with information about the robberies should contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404) 577-8477.
