After 47 years, the Fayetteville Fine Art Show is going on an indefinite hiatus.

Its organizer, Fayetteville Main Street, issued an announcement Monday saying that the volunteer committee that coordinates the show “has struggled to pull together enough help within the community to keep the event running at its best.”

The group said it will work with the Fayette Visioning Committee and any other interested parties to possibley recraft the show. However, the Taste of Fayette event on May 15 will offer a showcase for student artists.
