A Fayetteville police officer was struck by another police car and suffered minor injuries during an early-morning car chase Wednesday. The incident occurred after the driver of a 1997 Honda Accord eluded a sheriff’s deputy’s traffic stop at 3:45 a.m. on Ga. Hwy. 314 near Kenwood Road. The car’s tires were punctured by stop sticks deployed farther down the road by other officers, who pursued the Honda until it crashed on Ga. Hwy. 85 at Jeff Davis Drive. Capt. Chad Myers was struck by another pursuit vehicle but was released from Piedmont-Fayette Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All four suspects in the Honda were apprehended.
