Fayette teachers get contracts early

Fayette County is sending its teachers their 2015-16 contracts this week, following unanimous Board of Education approval on March 2. The first round of offers to certified employees recommended for retention by their principals is going out earlier this year than previously, with a return deadline of March 13.

Board member Diane Basham, a former teacher, said that “it has meant wonders” for teacher morale and stability to be able to confirm positions this soon.
