Starting Sept. 4, Fayette Senior Services will expand its transportation service hours to 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, an additional four hours per day.

The group’s low-cost, door-to-door service is available to residents age 60 and over, as well as disabled people age 18-59 who cannot drive, for non-emergency visits to medical appointments, dialysis centers and pharmacy pickups. The extended hours were made possible by a matching grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission. The vans are equipped to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers, and serve approximately 400 clients a month. FSS is currently raising funds to replace an irreparable van.

For more information about the program, contact Michelle Williamson at 770-461-0813, ext. 115.
