The Fayette County Board of Education’s first meeting of 2015 took place Monday at a work session. Just before convening, Diane Basham and Leonard Presberg were sworn in to assume their seats representing districts 4 and 5, respectively.

Basham replaced the retired Bob Todd, and Presberg was elected to the seat he has held since being appointed in 2011 following the death of Sam Tolbert. Marion Key was re-elected as board chair, with Dan Colwell approved as vice chair. Presberg was named as the board’s legislative liaison, and electing Barry Marchman for the second year as its delegate to the Georgia School Board Association’s summer conference.
