After evaluating data related to 49 traffic accidents in the past seven years, Fayette County will install a four-way stop at the intersection of Antioch and Goza roads.

The Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 on Oct. 26 to accept the recommendation from an engineering firm studying the site. The four-way stop is an “interim improvement” that could change after further evaluation produces a final report later this year. Reconfiguring the intersection will also include adding warning signals and rumble strips, but the commissioners and a local resident expressed concern about other factors, including traffic speed and sight distance, that still need to be addressed.
