After a two-week public review period, the Fayette County Board of Education voted 5-0 Monday to approve four new foreign language textbooks and their related digital resources. The county will spend $466,450 for the one Spanish, one German and two French editions, which includes six-year license fees.

The materials were previewed at the LaFayette Educational Center and online March 1-17. The titles were chosen after a committee started the selection process in 2015, followed by a year-long curriculum alignment so that all of the world languages teachers would “be on the same page” before the textbooks were adopted.
