Fayette County Public Schools has posted its answers to community questions about the possible relocation of J.C. Booth Middle School on its website, www.fcboe.org.

The Board of Education held several public hearings and has spoken during its regular meetings about its plans to either renovate the existing overcrowded school building in Peachtree City or to build a new school on undeveloped property off Carriage Lane and Stagecoach Road, the latter of which would require extensive and expensive road improvements not eligible for ESPLOST funding.

The three-part Q&A covers questions regarding costs, logistics at the current school site, student safety, the timeline of decisions, and factors related to both renovation and replacement. Peachtree City’s mayor and city council recently announced formal opposition to the new construction site because of traffic concerns and potential costs to the city.
