Scott Hollowell will remain as the chair of the Fayette County Board of Education in 2020.

As part of its agenda at the Dec. 16 regular meeting, the board accepted nominations for both chair and vice chair, positions held by Hollowell and Roy Rabold, respectively. Board member Barry Marchman began the proceeding by nominating District 4 member Leonard Presberg, who has served on the board since 2011, to be the new chair. However, Presberg declined, saying that although he would be honored to accept in the future, he preferred that board chairs serve two-year terms.

Rabold then nominated Hollowell for a second term as chair, for which the board voted 4-1 in support with Marchman opposed.

Presberg nominated Rabold as vice chair, which the board approved 5-0.
