Fayette County plans path near Pinewood

Fayette County's plan to build a multi-use path along Veterans Parkway near Pinewood Atlanta Studios got underway on Sept. 14 when the Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 to allocate $500,000 of SPLOST funds for design and construction. Rochester & Associates,Inc., will initially be paid $7,500 to prepare a concept plan, which will determine whether the path will cross over Sandy Creek on the east or west side of the parkway, between Georgia Military College and Pinewood.

The property in question was annexed into the city of Fayetteville in 2013, but an agreement stipulates that the county will be responsible for design and construction of the path.
