In a special called meeting Thursday night, the Fayette County Board of Commissioners vote 4-1 to adopt a nearly $93.9 million budget for FY2017.

The plan contains no staff raises but does absorb an increase in employee healthcare costs. The meeting included discussion of a last-minute addition of $60,000 to fund an employee pay and classification study, but that amendment was not approved.

Chairman Charles Oddo said the county is being “very efficient,” but debate over several issues resulted in a heated exchange between commissioners Steve Brown and David Barlow.
