Due to a scheduling conflict, the Fayette County Marshal’s Office has changed the date for a boater education class previously set for July 30.
The new date for the session is 8 a.m. on Aug. 6 at the Administrative Complex at 140 Stonewall Ave. West in Fayetteville. The safety course is being offered in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as part of a 2014 law that requires anyone born after Jan. 1, 1998 who operates a motorized vehicle on state waterways to get appropriate training. Information is at www.gooutdoorsgeorgia.com or from Sgt. Lem Miller at 770-305-5198.
