FAA sublease will bring up to 35 employees

A Federal Aviation Administration sublease has been approved by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners for Cobb County International Airport - McCollum Field.

The request was made by Atlanta Northside Aviation Inc. to enter into a 35-year sublease. Hangar 240 will be used by the FAA southeastern Flight Inspection Operations Group (Flightcheck).

Flightcheck includes up to 35 employees and a fleet of seven aircraft. Throughout the southeast U.S., Flightcheck is responsible for the in-air certification and ongoing flight inspections of navigation aids.

Northside will construct 6,750 square feet of office space and 1,892 square feet of shop space within and around the existing 25,000-square-foot hangar.
