People visiting Johns Creek will be able to explore the city in a new way.

Earlier this week, the city in north Fulton County announced that it had installed “Explore Boards” in its hotels. They are digital information kiosks that allow visitors to check out things to do, eat, buy and see in Johns Creek by touching a screen.

Each “Explore Board” features 50 points of interest around the city and allows the visitor to send information from the kiosk directly to their phone. The boards highlight and give information about local restaurants, shops and other businesses.

The boards also have the ability to be translated into five different languages including Mandarin, French, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese.

“Tourism is economic development,” Lynda Lee Smith, the chairwoman of the city’s convention and visitor’s bureau said in a statement. “The ‘Explore Boards’ are an incredible opportunity to inspire overnight guests to see and do more during their trip. This not only improves their visit, but results in increased visitor spending at local businesses.”

The Johns Creek “Explore Boards” are accessible in the lobbies of both the Hyatt Place and Hilton Garden Inn hotels in the city.
